Staying hydrated is essential for overall health and wellness, including optimizing physical performance. Dehydration, mild or severe, can significantly impair cognitive performance, decrease energy, and increase the risk of injuries during physical activity
Consistent hydration throughout the day is essential for an active lifestyle. Water needs to be drank before feeling thirsty as thirst is not always an accurate indicator of hydration.
CALCULATE YOUR HYDRATION NEEDS:
A general guideline is to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water each day. For example, if you weigh 140 pounds, aim to drink 70 ounces of water per day.
Both activity levels + warm environments increase water needs. During periods of high activity + sweating, consider electrolytes to optimize hydration.
